Tips for a Quick Everyday Makeup Routine

I generally only have a few minutes to myself in the morning before the chaos begins. I'm constantly choosing between showering or doing my makeup. It doesn't have to be that way though. I've cracked the code on how to look good in under five minutes. Here are my top tips to get ready quick:

1. Have a Plan

Before you start, put some thought into how you'd like to look. It doesn't have to take long, just a moment of planning can make the rest of the application so much faster. You won't waste your time with loads of eye makeup if you're going for a bold lip.

2. Stay Organized

Set up your vanity (the place where you do your makeup) with only the makeup you're going to use. I now have an acrylic tower organizer which keeps my products grouped together in the order they're used. I can quickly go drawer by drawer knowing the top drawer is filled with lip balm, which I always use first. And after using the product, I put it right back in the drawer so by the time I'm done, there's no mess to clean up.

3. Be Prepared

I talked about this a few weeks ago and I can't tell you how much it's changed my way of doing my own makeup. It's so incredibly helpful to have these non-makeup essentials on your vanity. I can be so much faster when I have my q-tips, tissues, makeup remover, brush cleaner, and spray-alcohol at my fingertips.

4. Use Multi-Purpose Products

One of my favorite ways to speed up my makeup routine is to use a multi-purpose product. There are so many great cream products, like Stila Convertible Color, which can be used on your eyes, cheeks and lips with nothing else but your fingertips. Add mascara, concealer and a brow gel and you're done in less than 5 min.

Wearing makeup shouldn't feel like a chore. Just like picking out clothing, choose products you feel great in. If you need more specific application tips, give me a call. I'm here for you.
